Your generous gift to the Department of Family Medicine allows us to support educational and leadership activities for medical students, residents, fellows and faculty that are unfunded by our annual budget and state funds. It also allows us to expand clinical services to our patients through additional training opportunities for residents and faculty and additional patient outreach activities.

In the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, we strive to excel in offering the highest quality education and training to our students, residents and fellow who will serve as future family practitioners to the state and beyond. But, often we do not have the resources to provide extra touches that can positively influence the educational experience for students and residents – from little things like offering educational travel opportunities for students and residents, to bigger things such as purchasing cutting-edge technology and replacing outdated equipment to enhance their clinical training.

Hardy B. Woodbridge Memorial Fund

Established by the Department of Family Medicine faculty in 2002, this fund to promote faculty excellence honors Dr. Hardy Woodbridge, one of the founding physician faculty members of the department.

Daniel Mark Pogue, MD, Humanitarian Award

Established by the Department of Family Medicine in 2009, this fund awards a graduating resident who demonstrates those characteristics exhibited by Mark: compassion, a positive attitude, and humility, and has shown a commitment to elevating the values of humanism and professionalism in the field of medicine. Chair Endowment Fund

The Chair Endowment Fund trust was created as an endowment for the Department of Family Medicine in 1994. The purpose is to promote research and development in the discipline of family medicine with the ultimate goal of creating an endowed chair and professorships of family medicine.
